The garage came and had a look this morning while I was out working from my wifes car.

Called in just now on my way past.

"Did you have a chance to look at the van Graham"

"Yes" (Bit of a pause)

"It's not good Stuart!"

"How bad" (No reply) "Is it dead?" I wanted to make it easy for him.

"I'm afraid so"

"What caused it?"

"It's hard to tell without stripping it down"

"If you want a project you can do that if you want"

"No thanks.........Iv'e been on to my engine guy, no point trying to rebore ect. etc" He then said lots of stuff which I didn't understand.

"Is it scrap then"

"Yes"

So thats it then, dead van and a grand loss of just over £2k that is if I get a few hundered scrap.

My address is on my website for cash of bottles of whiskey!!

Stuart
By the sounds of that conversation I think that he meant the engine was scrap rather than the van. I would source a recon for it if I were you ;)  What van is it anyway?

Recon engine £1700 fitting extra. Straight swap for a scrapyard engine will be a fair bit cheaper but you then have the risk of not knowing what you are buying.

I think I'll advertise it on ebay as spares or repair, let someone else have the hassle of getting it running.

Thanks. I've been quite lucky with the previous 2 in 5 years lost £1300 net combined.

Was just hoping to get a year out of this to see if I got on ok with the size. It was a Movano extra high mwb.
