I have had my CLX22 for about 3 weeks now and overall its been great. I love the closed length so I can work both up and downstairs using the same pole. It's light and the last section is the right size for my hands so I can work comfortably all day. The pole is coated with a much harder lacquer than the previous SLXes we have got, but it is already starting to wear in a couple of places, with the red colour disappearing.
In my particular case I see the benifit as I have been using modular fishing poles, which although light and pretty rigid, took time to assemble and collect the disguarded pieces afterward. We initially started our business with Unger Teleplus poles, and going to the modular ones was a big step forward to us then. Going to the CLX is another step forward in time saving.
I still use the modular fishing poles occassionally, so the CLX hasn't totally taken over completely. That's my choice as the modular fishing poles are still a little lighter and more rigid than the CLX and will use modular for some difficult to reach angled work. Only use the Unger on one job now every six weeks.
The downside I have experienced is that the first 2 clamps from the brush end have both come loose as has the ali brush adaptor. I think it was a case of both inadaquate glue being used in assembly and the quality of the glue.
To me it was just an irritant rather than a complaint as I have some Araldite 2 pack glue on the van and was able to reglue the offending pieces and continue to use it after the glue had cured. Looking carefully at the pole's remaining 2 clamps would suggest to me that they will eventually need regluing as well. I know a few out there now have them and as no one else has brought up this as an issue, expect I was just unfortunate.
Will I buy another one - most definitely.
I also chose the new dual trim flocked brush which is fantastic - its better than the one on my SLX40 from last year.
