ro membranes

Thought I would change my membranes as they were 3 years old on 300 gal RO unit as reading before di was 008 ,normally 003. New membranes now fitted and  now reading is 014 -020 .Have changed all pre-filters still the same,water quality here is 315 tds ,,any ideas anyone !!!!

running it now for 2 weeks,was told by the seller to flush them for 1 hour,wished I had left old ones still in !!

where did you buy the membranes from ??? they may be  lower quality ones...

as been said could be a lower quality membrane..or you could take tds readings from each indvidual membrane as there may be a faulty one this has happened to me once in the past..or it may settle down although you would of thought it would have by now depending on how much water you use a week..

make sure you have connected pipes going in ro housings correctly.

When you replace membranes you need to be sure the new ones are properly seated in the housing seals, or water will escape around them and then you get untreated water contaminating the pure.

This could be your problem

Have Checked membrane seating and it is well pushed home,,membranes were sold as from RO man but did not have their sticker on but did come from USA,cost £22 ea plus vat
