«

I am quoting a large job. They have informed me that the windows are self cleaning glass (they look chuffin mingin to me).
Will this make them easier to clean?

ive only cleaned it on con' roofs and from my experiance it cleans easily, but you have to be carefull not to scratch it and dont use a scraper or chemicals on it. if you look at the pilkington active website it tells you this.

I clean quite a lot of self cleaning glass. Its mainly either cons roofs or orangery roofs. It does clean slightly easier but it seems to get just as dirty as normal glass!
IMO ist a load of rubbish and would never pay the premium for it. Ow also do not scrap the glass just use elbow grease if there is any dried on crap

One my customers has it on the con roof and on the side windows.
asked me to stop cleaning it but two monthes later yes.. you guessed it asked me to start cleaning it again. I find it alot easier to clean and comes up really well but self cleaning glass? i dont think so

I used t apply this stuff and it only self cleans when it rains on it and dosnt shift the likes of bird crap. They should realy sell it as a easy clean surface which it is. It works well on boats and car windscreens as ya dont have to use your wipers much on the motorway in heavy rain. Next time you clean one of these houses throw some water on the glass and see how it rolls off its like a ball of water which rolls down the glass and collects the dirt or dust!!!

I've noticed self-cleaning glass can 'smudge' under an applicator but WFP is fine.
Modern self-cleaning glass tends to have a smooth tint.

i clean loads of it , inc a dble glazing factory / showroom that manufacture and install it !!
also recently picked up a block of 35 flats , one top ( 2nd ) floor flat was not to be included as it had self cleaning glass which was filthy , and had been installed a few years ago , apparently this guy paid thousands extra , and is currently trying to get his money back !!

We have it over here and it's a joke. The coating will scratch if it comes in contact w/ anything metal. Most of it I run across is hydrophobic so it's a real pain. I won't clean it w/ anything other than a wfp though.
