thats a very sweeping generalisation and not very accurate!as has already been spoken of many times before on this forum.
you get cheap/dirt cheap/moderately expensive and very expensive!just because some guy is charging £5-£6 a semi doesnt mean he s on the dole/beer brigade etc.
if he has a very compact round and experienced(or wfp)then he can still make a fair wedge.he also might have some better priced domestic/commercial and see these run of the mill houses as "bread and butter" jobs.
also depends on area and the cost of living in your particular neck of the woods.if you clean frames/doors/sills and offer a longer cleaning frequency you should be able to double what the cheaper windys charge!
some parts of my round are cheaper than others but they are very very compact!so other windys dont get a sniff!i also pick up the add on jobs at quite a lot of these custys!hardly any driving about/easy to collect.
of course i also have larger well priced domestics/stand alone jobs/a few commercial.a good mixture!
