post builder cleans

Hi....Having completed several post builder cleans I can honestly say that you REALLY earn every penny!
So for anyone new to this area of cleaning....remember its at least twice the labour, supplies & time needed for a domestic / office clean so add this factor in when you quote the charge!
Plus .....Remember at the outset to clarify what 'tasks' are included in your price and which are NOT!

hi there

builders cleans are a totally different animal, they require a different mind set, and a different management style, both in winning the work, the onsite manangement, and the accounts management.

you hve to ensure that the site managers are working with you, as opposed to against you, this relationship is something that you need to build, we have done sites of 100 units plus, therofore on site for a duration, and therefore these relationships can be created. they are very useful, because whent he agent moves to the next site, you can get a helping hand in by the agent.

but, whilst these are hard work, the work is very satisfying, in knowing what you have achieved.

regards

martin

I am in agrrement with martin on the management side of things. A totally different ball game. They are fun. You need very good site management.

Martin again is also right that the Site manager needs to work with and not against you as that will cause a heart ache twice over.

I am not sure if you need twice the supplies. Possible need a scaper or two for removing paint. Ambasil for label removal. To me that the worst bit, labels everywhere.

Oh and remember to pre check everything for damage prior cleaning it, get the damage signed off so you cant get the blame.

We do lots of builder cleans for large office constructions. Where talking many floors and doors. We did Ultralase, even need to sanitised after.

We also door the sealing of vynil floors for them.

Yes builders cleans is something we have worked on number of times, to be honest they are our best earners and we have worked on projects for private developers up to doing schools and newly build blocks of flats.

Relationships are everything on those jobs, your team has to be well managed and know what’s going on. The standards have to be spectacular otherwise you will be penalised and like Dave said always check for damage prior.

As regards to twice the efforts etc, i personally dont think that all though the dust is most annoying and has to be wiped 3 times not one especially on things like tiles etc, but to me nothing is worse than dirty full of grime student properties. Those are real hard work, the builders cleans are plesure to do.
