I started and went without insurance for about 4 years ( never realised that you had to have any) until I joined the fed and relised how lucky I'd been, having said that when I started people did'nt make claimes against some one for tripping over the weeds on the foot path,

I'm sure you'll get loads of replys to this thread won't recomend mine as they are expensive waiting for renewal time to sort out so I'll be whatching the reply,s as well

You could try sickness/injury insurance.  Sorry don't have a link though.

YEH , TELL ME ABOUT THAT NONSENSE , I JUST SPLIT THE CARTLIDGE IN MY LEG AND ROTATED IT 180 * , I DIDNT HAVE ANY COVER AT THE TIME SO WHILE I WAS OFF SICK I THOUGHT I WOULD GET SOME QUOTES , HAD ONE GUY COME ROUND PROMISING ME THE WORLD , WHEN THE POLICY CAME IT TURNS OUT THAT THE PAYMENTS ARE DEFERRED FOR THE 1st MONTH AND THEN PAID 1 MONTH IN ARREARS !   ,    NO MONEY FOR TWO MONTHS WHATS THE POINT OF THAT !

I do not like this thread

P/L insurance for under a £100.

Try Northern Ireland If you get under £1000 you are doing well >:(

Try these,

insuranceservices.co.uk.

it was £72 for 1 million.  It went to about £350 for 5 million.

It was for basic one-person personal liability and it was the cheapest I could find (which doesn't always mean the best).  The true test of an insurance policy is when you're forced to claim on it.

ALL insurances are expensive in Northern Ireland.  I remember as a squaddie, for car insurance, we could claim the difference back between a quote from Central London and Northern Ireland (NI being the more expensive).

It's 'The Troubles' you see.  It makes you more likely to drop your ladders by accident onto a customers car.

Have you shopped around?

While I think you'd be nuts not to have public liability and most commercial customers want to see evidence of it, I don't think it is legally mandatory (like car insurance is) for a self employed one-man band.

True/False?
It's a game of three halves!

It true that you don't legally need public liability insurance, but if someone has a accident then the costs involved will run into thousands, this can still be the case when you are not at fault.

Hey, that is very good.  What company do you use?  Mine's up for renewal next month, although I don't require that level now; but I might ask them for a quote.
