Strange requests?
« on: August 23, 2005, 07:26:57 pm »
I went to a one of my bungalows today and found the lady outside saying she had locked herself out. ::)

Her neighbours were trying to help her get in.
A job for me I thought, so I reach in through an opening light and turn the bottom window key with a tent peg.
Then hook the handle upwards, climb superman-like through the window and trot round to open the front door.
Hooray! Got a few pound extra too!

This got me thinking..

What unusual jobs have you ended up doing? ???

Roger.

I was asked to iron a lasses wedding dress by the lass who was about to get married.  She said, 'Here, you're an ex-squaddie; can you iron this for me?'.

So I did.

Unwraping a flag from the top of a flag post on a spliced 29ft ladder in the wind about 10 years ago, scary never mind strange dread to think what a H&S Officer would have done if he had seen me.

hehehehe i like that when they call the boats somthing like "wave cutter 2" i just roll up at the those...

as for strange requests i think we see a lot of em in our line of work...

one i had was a big "and i mean BIG" wasp's nest about a year ago, not the best of jobs but it payed very well for 20 mins work ;).....

best i had was a new job i picked up sometime ago, on the first visit i was talking with the owner about his patio doors over a cupa, becasue they were badley scratch, the were large doors and stretched 80% accross the back of the house, they said they had priced up a few companys to come and replace the glass and the quotes were running into 1000's for the glass and fitting, i told them that i maybe abble to help and they gave me the job, having worked in the car trade when i was a little younger i used a lot of "farecla" its a paste you use on car bodywork to "cut" the paint work back, but we also used it on the glass if they were scratched as it pollished out the scratches, so i set about it and 2 days latter as good as new, im not going to say how much i made on that one but he was so pleased with the results he gave me a £100 extra of the agreed price (which he himself decided and very pleased with it i was too)

i still clean there windows now and there one of my best customers, if get there around dinner time and i can afford the time there always good for a sandwitch and a cupa :D

i'm thinking of changing the name to WASH & GO GIRDLE CLEANING.

Do you lot think it will be a success if i target the older ones (in wheelchairs) lol :D

No way!
Far too abrasive for car glass.

Trust me, I used to be a top valeter. ;)
