Starting up pressure washer...

Just got my pressure washer, and cant really get my head round the instructions...
When starting up, how do you prime the pump if the inlet hose has a filter on?
Or is it a case of submerging the feed hose, and firing it up, assuming the short second of air intake wont harm the pump?
13hp Loncin is the machine.

i just submerged the hose in tank. you can also take off the filter and pour water down hose. Used to have to do this in old place of work to prime pumps sometimes lol. Also pull the trigge ron the lance to release any pressure if not starting.
make sure choke is in right position also and engine speed set roughly halfway. once running adjust choke. i'm sur eon the loncin if same as mine it is closed when pushed to the left. Check the engine manual which came with it.
mines stopped working yesterday but the engine flooded. removed spark plug and sure enough all black. Cleane dup and back in and all ok.
when refitting spark plugs be very very careful you dont thread the engine. Best thing to do is get a small section of hose and push onto top of spark plug and then sit spark plug in its place and tighen up by turning the hose. once hose starts slipping on the plug final tighten with socket set.
i say again be careful when placing plug into engine you must make sure it's on the thread.
