employee for sale
« on: May 21, 2010, 10:17:37 pm »
in fact if someone wants him you can have for free ::)

good points

he can clean a window wfp or trad equally well

bad points is

he misses windows, he gets his mum to phone in sick, he doesnt see bird muck, he constantly does not remove spiders webs from frames(i think he scared) he generally just gets on my nerves, he never has fAgs, he is always skint, when he has a nick in a blade he doesnt just change it he comes whining to me that his squeegie doesnt work. aggghhh the list goes on

anyway i have never sacked anyone any pointers ;D

i don't actually think thats true. There are plenty out there like that, but i have a couple of guys that take on board the comments and seem to want to do a good job.

Its just a case of finding them i think. Then once you have them you need to treat them right

Stu, if you have never sacked anyone, you have the perfect opportunity to get some practice without feeling bad.  As previous post you could always practice sacking wife first.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

my wife will not work for me ::) my 15 year old son gets sacked regular ;D he fills my van up after work and puts everything on charge for his pocket money.

nah to be serious though should i just say its not working out financially and give him his notice or just tell him ive had enough and sack him for being useless and risk him trying to take to a tribunal for not doing the whole written warnings etc

How long have you had him ? Now i'm know where near the stage if employing, but when I was in my last job I used to hire and fire and it can be tricky, but what we used to do was take them on initially on a 6 month probation period and at any point within that time if it wasn't working out I would just tell them that they had failed there probation and why. But once you get beyond that point you do have to start documenting there errors and giving them a writing copy of any warning and why there getting it.

All joking aside it is one of the hardest things I've had to do is fire someone, especialy if they are decent people that are crap at there job or continualy let you down.

ive being doing my sums and i really could just do without him, drop a bit of work or sell it and i would be far better off. theres one street i do that i go do the bungalows trad while he does the house wfp and when collecting tonight i had to let her off with payment as when she showed me the bedroom windows above the con they were filthy. i think he was just to lazy to get the bigger pole out the van i guess. and by the looks of the windows they hadnt been cleaned in months

just read your reply murdie i have had him on the books from november last year
