Wooden ladders
« on: August 18, 2005, 09:35:28 pm »
Like most guys that have been a wc for years I have built up a collection of ladders. Out of preference my every day ladder is made of wood, with alloy rungs
It has been adapted for the job. A stabliser bar fitted and a pointed top.
Question is to paint or not to paint. I know this was debated back in the late 1950's. Any of you scientists our there got the answer? I'v thought of using cuprinol or some othe preservative but don't fancy the stuff coming off on my shirt. If you leave it unpainted it gets as heavy as hell after a spell of rain. Dai

painting ladders is a big no no ,preservative`s ok though .paint can hide lurking dangers
