I am looking at getting in a sub-contractor to work along side me.

Will his own public liability insurance cover himself, working with me?

regards the pl you still may need employer pl.

sub contracting can be easy but it can also be a pain in the bud if you mucked about

Yes most important question is how much is he going to charge you. If he's an experienced W/C then his day rate will probably be close to yours so there may be very little profit for you after settling his invoice.

I have just had this clarified for me. If you have someone on a self employed basis sub contractor you still need employers liability.

as es subbing so work es carring out is freelance ??

if you employ sub contractors tyou have to have the right cover for them

why dont you check your policy?

If you have a subby working on your job and they hurt/kill themselves you have to be covered. This is employers liability. Public liability is different.
