« on: May 13, 2010, 12:16:09 pm »
hi i have just purchased a water fed pole system which was second hand, using a merlin reverse osmosis system and a di unit, i get a tds reading of nil, (12 after ro unit but nil after di unit) however when using the pole it still leaves water marks after drying, i am new to this and stuck instantly which is a pain as spent quite a bit of money....hope im not doing anything stupid....i have checked the tds meter with normal water just to check it worked :-)....my system is set up as follows............... tap - merlin ro unit - 500ltr tank - Di unit - pump - hose - pole -............HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks
James (newbie)

Hi James,

Whats the TDS of the water in your tank? Have you checked this?

May be its just technique... Are you cleaning the frames thoroughly enough? Are you rinsing enough? etc...

James,.. if your water is 000 then most probably its down to operator error. There is a bit of a learning curve to wfp & there is a precise technique to different types & designs of windows.

The quickest way to fix your problem is probably to work with an experienced WFP'er for a day or 2. Offer free labour in exchange for knowledge,..

Where abouts are you based?

Thats your problem then!  It should be 000... You need to get your tank clean.

What brush are you using?
Do you rinse on or off the glass?
Do you clean the top frames?

I guess it could be dirty water dripping from the top frame after the clean.  Avoid the top frame if poss, or do frame, wait for drips to stop, then clean the windows.  Hence why fisrt cleans takes a bit of time.
