idea of possible Price Please.
« on: May 12, 2010, 10:35:51 am »
Hello,

It been a whille since I have been in the window cleaning section.

I don't normally ask for prices but I am a little stumped really as I want to be competitive but not stupid. We have been given the chance to quote for a large car show room selling american classics and Jaguar classics.

Now I have the option of both traditional and WFP methods. there are a total of 76 windows. All flat pane glass. Metal frames.

There are no travel costs involed as we clean other building on the same road.

The height is at least 15 feet.

Frequeancy

is every 2 weeks and once a month inside.

Sorry I dont have pictures but if any of you could help that would be appreciated.

I was considering charging at least £1.00 a frame but was also thinking that might be a bit much.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Without pics it's hard but we do a few car showrooms and with wfp 76 panes can be shot through really quickly. I reckon, without seeing it remember, that £50 - £60 would be acceptable to them and easy for you to earn in a couple of hours.

Insides will be different as you can't use wfp obviously. So, faced with the same decisions as you I'd Quote: Outside only ..... £55, Inside and outside ....... £130.

There you go; now watch as you'll get prices from £20 in and out to £200 outside only. I love this job ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

I would just add that metal frames can be a nightmare or can be totally fine !! Be prepared to have to re-rinse the windows again.
With that in mind, if you think they'll come up fine then £50-60 sounds fair, although I would imagine you'd be able to do that in 1hr30 or less ??

inside is a different story. How easy are the windows to get to ? will there be cars directly where the ideal place for the ladder will be ?? will the ladder need footing ?? (although there's some great ladder mats out there).
15ft . . is inside over 2 floors or are the windows really high ??

All problems that could add time to the job.

good luck  ;D

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the tips and advice which was really appreciated.

Well, I sent in my quotation yesterday. Heard back today verbally that we have won the contract. We start Tuesday.

Also I priced up to do it traditional. We do have WFP. But these windows are large. No 2nd floor but ladders will be required upto about 15 feet as its in Two panes, if that makes sense.

They wanted once a week. and once a month so we agreed £280+VAT.

So thanks for your helps and advice, its nice to see people helping. Hopefully later on I can return the favour.

Cheers Lads
