we pressure washed an indian stone patio the other day and blasted out a lot of the mortor joints which the client was aware may happen, however he is happy for us to go along and repoint up the joint, what method would everyone recommend?? the joints are very very deep!! magic sand would be too expensive to do the whole job maybe get away with doin the top layer. just need sum ideas to get the job done to best finish but at an affordable price.
cheers richy

Indian sandstone stains very easily with cement!!! So i would personally get someone to do it the old fashioned way!!! Or maybe fill the deep gaps with some sharp sand and then use geo-fix i did this when i first started out and didn't have any probs but know i use a guy on jobs like that to do it properly!!!

geo is good for deep and wide joints but expensive
tends to break up if used on overpointing or in small cavaties
its the same with all air cured products
the sandstone is porous so its sucks in any moisture as rightly noted cement when mixed with water will be absorbed into the stone causing staining which is a pain to remove
