« on: May 10, 2010, 10:01:36 pm »
blew engine up on car a few weeks ago coming home from work on a monday.scrapped it tuesday.picked new van up wednesday, clipped front exhaust on speed bump on way back from forecourt, snapped in half! ::)had to order roof rack and wait overnight so missed 3 days work.moved some furniture last weekend, twisted my knee and had most of last week off(with a high temperature as well).last friday went over another speed bump and snapped the rear torsion suspension bar on van.spent all sat morning ringing round for part.said they would deliver it monday!ive been sat in all day(and its been nice and dry outside!) no sign of part!

got no one to sit in my flat for me while i do some work(mum and dad on hols) so tommorrow off waiting for part then phone garage hopefully to get it booked in for wed(if they can fit me in! ::))

im 3 weeks behind  on some work with conny roofs to clean as well.ive lost a fair wedge over the last few weeks and van going to cost about £500(as im gettin cambelt changed as well)

so for me i better BEWARE OF SPEED BUMPS!! ;D ;D

im raring to get back at it now! :( :(

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes, Daz.

However, things are going absolutely BRILLIANT here in Chepstow; I can't believe how good things are! I'm pretty much bang on with all my work, my cash flow is good, and my prices are just about where I want them on everything I do; more-or-less. ;D

I've even put a couple of potential customers in Squeaky's direction; how nice am I?  ;D

Seriously though, I can't wait for you to get stuck into WFP and settled down with it.  It took me quite a while to learn to trust the thing; I really would've benefited from spending an afternoon with Ian_Giles.  If you can, get out and spend an afternoon with someone whose been using WFP for a few years.

cheers guys!glad its goin so well for you tosh!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

normally everything runs pretty smoothly for me so i was due a bit of bad luck!hopefully ill be back at it soon!its frustrating not being able to earn! :( :(

but im looking forward to the next 6 months by which ill have my wfp set up and ill have done a few months at it!i dont think itll take that much getting used to as ive been using extension poles day in /day out for years!also i use a wfp (on custys outside tap)for conny roofs/fascias/soffits and the like!ive also been using the unger pole with a big heavy brush on it so anything else will probably feel great to use!

ive primed all my custys.i have letters for some of em printed out.ive changed over to gg3 a few months ago and ill be cleaning the dreaded top frames on most of my upper windows the clean before wfp(ive already cleaned some with a damp microfibre)so im well prepared!

ill be doing my first cleans in august(at the latest)and im goin to trad the downstairs for now apart from the odd big conny/georgian/leaded and gradually introduce it on most of my downstairs work over time

i know which windows are oxidized as ive been testing them!also the odd flakey wooden windows to be careful
with! ::).im certainly not going to stand round all day rinsing them thats for sure! ;D ;D

Good luck daz

Has your van got lowered suspension????? Or are them speed bumps high in your area????

I normally thrash all the vans about with no problems.... I used to use mine to nudge next doors car up the street when they parked over the drive ;D

Thinking of getting a Vito, Vivaro or Transit in next few months so i will probably look after the next one

When you rely on the van for work its best to look after it
