Ive just bought a p/washer lance gutter attachment etc.

To clean upvc gutters soffits etc, i would say it halves the time!!

I havent as yet cleaned inside gutters although have been asked, i always say.....

" i use a presure washer with attachments, it not only cleans them out but flushes all the guttering and checks the downpipes are clear by jetting them.  yes it can cause the muck to come down the walls, but i clean that up for you.......But you are left safe in the knowledge, that they are totally clear AND sparkling inside!!!"

An old saying in sales "bullpoop baffles brains"

At the end of the day, they are paying to have their gutters emptied...thats what i will do.

If you fore warn them that it may cause a bit of a mess that you will clean up, then everyone is happy!!!!

Thanks for that Mick! May I ask a question - to set up a complete system what did you buy and how did you do it?
It's a game of three halves!

I bought said lance in January, to use in conjunction with a 3600psi / 18lpm pressure washer. I would not use it for cleaning soffits and gutters except on places you can guarantee that there won't be any water ingress into the roof space. At height these lances are beasts - I have the back belt (essential for higher work, say over 15 ft) and have carabiners on it rather than the plastic buckles.

Yes, it does clean soffits and gutters well, but no better than wfp + tfr (and there's no risk there); is it quicker - marginally. At height the bendy lance is very hard to control accurately, thus it's difficult to get in nooks and crannies. It gives a hell of a kick to it when you start it off too.

Where it does come into its own is exterior building cleaning (pressure washing). Apply tfr via a wfp + trolley and hose off. It's very quick and gives a great result, especially on smoother-rendered buildings. Mind you, Nat will talk to you about "soft-washing", which has its place too, imo.

Am I glad I bought the lance (the 24' one) - yes. Do I use it for cleaning the insides of gutters - no chance - it'll blow 'em off the wall (I bought the U-shaped gutter attachment too, but have yet to use it). Would I use it for cleaning the exteriors of gutters, fascias and soffits - no, not worth the risk. Would I use it for exterior  walls - every time. Worth the outlay - yes, with the right machine. Is it quicker than wfp on g, f and s - marginally.

Be aware that the (larger?) lances come in 2 weights. I have the lighter weight one and it's very hard work on the shoulders. You'll have shoulders like cannonballs after a while and even a glass fibre wfp will feel like a feather.

This is not my experiance with a pressure set-up.The whole thing should be used with care but the results far outweigh any negativity of the process imo.

I use this set up regularly on domestic & considerably more on commercial works.

If you are worried aboutt chucking muck everywhere turn the revs down on the pressure washer!!

A lot of ppl use the gutter attachment with the normal 45deg nozzle in place,.. try using the soaper nozzle, there's still plenty enough power to move the debris in the gutter but it makes a lot less mess and its easier to control!

I seen a video posted on here by some time back and the guy was showing how to use the lance, I must say I didn't see and muck being blown any where because he cleaned before hand with a scoop and I didn't see the lance flying every where.

Can you blast the soffits with vents?!
if the vents are new then it will not be a problem, we have done many of these jobs and old vents crumble into powder, treat with Caution
