« on: August 17, 2005, 09:37:11 am »
Im sure ive seen a previous thread on here before about remote control from maplins, but i cant find it.
Ive got an omnitrolley but i need 10 foot arms to switch it on and off whilst using the pole, can any one help me out by letting me know if they have a remote fitted and is it easy .?

I have - it came with my trolley system from aquatec (broxburn) it's a bit temperamental but it always switches on within 20 paces and (nearly) always switches off within 10.

It's like a car remote which I wear around my neck. I reckon if it had it's own seperate battery (instead of drawing from the supply that feeds the pump) it'd work better.

No - it just seems that while the trolley battery is driving the pump, the remote receiver doesn't accept the instruction to turn the water off unless you are fairly close. I haven't sussed out whether this is due to the pump motor's brushes interfering with the signal or whether it's because the battery doesn't deliver power to the receiver so readily.
