Just saying Hi
« on: August 16, 2005, 07:41:29 pm »
Hi all, just thought i'd say hello, been thinking of starting up for a while now, and stumbled on this forum, some fantastic advice in the archives, and now i can't wait to get going. I'm in the process of buying my equipment, and practicing at home. I haven't given up my day job yet, so if there's anyone out there doing this part time any helpful advice is greatly appreciated.

I started part-time. It's a good way in. I suggest you start with enough to cover a few hours on a Saturday (or whatever your day off is) and then you'll get to know what it's really like!
It's a game of three halves!

Hi Pablo' i'm gonna start with traditional equipment first and look at building up to wfp's, I think I'll benefit initially from being able to practice using trad' methods. The better and quicker I get ( and more money I get ) then I'll probably invest further.

That's what I'm thinking of doing. Trouble is I'm a little nervous at the thought of getting up there on a ladder!  ;D
Maybe this isn't the job for me!  :(

Don't forget that you'll be able to get to a lot of upstairs windows with traditional poles and squeegees!

It's not a good idea to jump staright into pure water systems without having at least some experience of window cleaning and an idea of your typical customer base.

Regards

Mike

Sounds like good advice Mike, I've got one extention pole that i'm trying out now, and it's pretty easy to get on with.
