As some of you will already know, since I had illness that put me out of work for nearly 6 months (heart attack) I started back doing ground floor work trad w/c.
about 70% still ground floor but because I am so well known locally and so good higher work is returning. 
Is it worth getting into Wfp on that basis?  Would it really imrove my work?
Will I work quicker, thus increase profit?
Will it help if I get a cat and stick an unger applicator up it and use that instead?

If you are taking on more and more higher work then I would say go for a WFP on safety grounds alone.

I have a handful of bungalows and use it on them.
In all fairness it isn't much quicker, but it most certainly is if you wash all the frames as well.
I use it because I think I do a more thorough job, I'm happier because everything gets washed down (unless the frames are all manky (powdery, tatty paintwork) of course.
Although I did have a breakdown while just about to start a large bungalow with a really big, low level (no, not a 'nervous breakdown! A hose problem) conservatory.
I always WFP it, takes me at least 20 minutes or so.
I did it on this  particular occasion the trad way, it took me over 45 minutes, and that didn't include the frames, which always get done with the WFP.

So it may well improve your profitability, it really does depend on the individual accounts that you do clean.

Also of course, it means that all work is no different to cleaning bungalows, life is definitely easier with WFP.

Thanks for your comments guys.  By the way in the past I have done 50' harness work on really awkward buildings, and some crazy stuff years ago, but it's different these days. 
I do clean all the frames etc.  Always treated it as part of the job.  so looks like I'll be asking which kit soon.  hope you won't mislead me.  I've tried to be good.

Hi , just started with my wfp today and i did everything with it , it was a fair bit quicker than trad , but i found it was heavy on water use , so make sure you have plenty of space for water .

Far more hassle setting up and loading.

How many people ask complicated squeegee and ladder questions on here?

the question will doing WFP on ground floor make it faster, in my opinion YES

i do 4 houses near me, well behind my house, upstairs has allways been WFP for the last 9 months, they used to take me 1 hour 30 mins, did then last time with WFP allaround, job took 55 mins, my only concearn is if a customer is home, they will think bloody hell XXX quid for 15 mins work

That is another link to one of the cheaper WFP setups, from trolley's to fully setup van mounts.
Peter Fogwill is always very helpful too.
I have his kit myself, as do many others.
Matt's way is also a good way if you are adept at DIY.

An advantage with going to a company that supplies you with all that you need is that you have come-back if something goes wrong, and they are always at the end of the phone for any technical problems too.

And Roger,
The longer you stay on trad, the less competition there is for me
Though with your own particular circumstances I would go for a trailer system.

You remember the Fisherman pub don't you?

Going absolutely flat out I could do it in 35 minutes (which was quicker by at least 5 minutes than you could do it when you looked after some of my accounts when I went on holiday).
On that one occasion when we had a pint in there, you knocked out 3 domestic accounts in slightly less time and made more money than me
The Fisherman now takes me less than 20 minutes...and thats from turning up to driving away
No more slippery roofs or ladder rungs, no more worrying about the wind (extreme conditions notwithstanding of course ) and of course you can't fall off the ground either
