Office Desks
« on: April 10, 2010, 06:43:22 am »
hi people,

we do alot of day time office cleaning for small and large companies.

Most are good. We have a sysytem in place with most that at least one day a week they have a clear desk so we can clean them. However others do not.

We are not having any issues with the clients. I just wondered if any of you that do commercial cleaning in office, How do you go about this?

Cheers

It is one of the first things we agree when we take a contract on and, after previous issues, something we dont compromise on - if staff want their desks cleaned they clear them and if the desk is not cleared it will not be cleaned. We lost a customer a few months ago due to the staff moaning about their desks either not being cleaned or the cleaners moving stuff around and making a mess of their "system" when they did clean the desks!

We have the same systems in place and made it clear from the start of all the contracts and all the managers are happy to go along with it. We can only clean where we can and when we can and if they want there desks to be fully cleaned then its down to the staff to clear all there junk off so that we can carry out the cleaning duties as stated in the site specs.

Hi

In some contracts where the desks are rarely tidy (recruitment companies seem to be the villains!) we move everything onto the chair in no particular order.  We provide small tent cards, so that if the user REALLY doesn't want their desk tidying and cleaning, they just leave the card on the desk.  That been said, they ALL get a full clean and polish on a Friday.  This has worked really well in these particular customers.

Hi Rich,

that seems a really good idea. But when you move the stuff dont they complain?

Thats the reason why we dont move stuff as we found they moan.

But I might suggest this on future contracts.

Thanks for that
