wick back/protector
« on: April 05, 2010, 04:39:38 pm »
Just wondering.......If I was to clean a stained carpet and was fearful of the stains wicking back, what effect would the application of protector have on the job?

Would the contaminant be encouraged to wick up the pile due to the extra moisture?

Or would the protector start working straight away before curing thus inhibiting the wicking?

What do you reckon?

Thanks.  :)

In theory it could dependant what the stain was and how much of it, say for instance if it were washing up liquid which really takes some rinsing then it would actually repel water based protector, I would therefore apply a solvent based one although a silcone based product Guardsman may be a better choice.
