Which booster pump
« on: June 17, 2010, 11:35:16 pm »
I need a booster pump, Can anyone recommend one as I do not want to end up getting the wrong thing. I have seen some in machine mart varying greatly in price, seen one on purefreedom site (which looks nothing like the ones in m/c mart!) I have no idea what to get. I presume I just plug it onto my outside tap and then connect my RO  onto the booster pump with a hozelock?

The hose from the 3 pre filters plugs into the booster pump then from the booster pump to the inlet for the membranes.
I have it on for most of the day continously.

Depends on the pump,.. most are rated between 60 & 80psi. The cheaper ones say to run them for 20 minutes & 40 minutes cool down, which is useless for window cleaning.

John supplies a few different types,.. its worth dropping him an e-mail as he is very knowledgeable & helpful:

buy the booster pump from purefreedom then, i have the same ro as you with there booster pump was about 80 quid and it would fill 600litres in less than 15 hours, it also has lower tds coming out the ro and less waste ratio.

runs all the time none stop

The aquatec is 120psi, can stay on continuously.
