I shouldn`t have laughed.....but
« on: February 25, 2010, 07:45:34 pm »
Tried to do a job yesterday up a snowy hill. Van got stuck and the more i tried the worse it got. Van was slipping towards another car and was nearly across the road.
got the shovel out, grit bin at the side of the road, so started gritting the road and was clearing a path.  A nice gent in a lexus jeep came down and stopped right in front of the gritting, about 10 yards from the van. Do you know whose van that is? he asked in a posh voice. Its mine I replied. Oh he exclaimed, I thought you worked for the council. I need by he said, in a way as if I had deliberately blocked his path. Give me a minute I replied, and continued gritting. He obviously got fed up and tried to go back up the hill, after giving me a Paddington hard stare. He reversed round and then slide sideways into a wall, denting his wing and bumper. I jumped in the van, and managed to drive off.... unfortunately with out a straight face. Finished the job today, hill had been well gritted.....by me. Did brighten up my day.......but should it.

derek west
