hi i am starting a new comany in readng carpet and uphostery cleaning can anybody advise me if it is worth advertising on yell.com or any ideas of where to advertise would be gratfully recieved

only take the free listing on yell, get yourself a website and submit to loads of online directories. also parish magazines are a good starting point

yes when i started out i found these a brilliant source for new clients, very cheap to advertise in some that i used were only £15 for the year! Also get some postcards printed up and put them in shop windows for a couple of quid a month

thanks guys i have heard that yell.com is a waste of time, I had some flyers designed and printed and im putting them in local shops and houses around my area im thinking of putting an ad in the local paper as well

i wouldn't say yell is a waste of time as people still use it, you just have to offer something more then your competition. it could be a sign of a trust worthy company, cheaper prices, loads of experience shown on your website, as long as you have a clear usp and it's shown well then i believe yell does work.
