its more than likely going to need a machine polish.
the paint under the sign writing will be in good condition but its the rest of the paint that will be faded slightly due to the weather and mainly uv. if you gonna have a go with some tcut then its the rest of the paintwork you want to be hitting rather than the paint under the signs.
i can machine polish it for you if your in warwickshire!

Don't use t-cut, it's nasty drying stuff, useless and old fashioned, full of fillers.  A machine polish will rectify it.  (in case your wondering why I think I know I own/publish this blogg ) - http://carcarematters.blogspot.com/
And also run a detailing and dent removal business.

Send me an e-mail with your location and I'll send you back a list of trusted and professional valeters/detailers in your area, who will do it right first time and have it looking brand new for a reasonable fee and happily send you a quote.  e-mail - carcarematters@inbox.com

ccmids,

make sure you clean off any water and grit before you put your magnetic ones on each time.

I have a set on our first car and it made a hell of a mess when we have finished. luckily the car was
scrapped when we had finished with it.
