Nick's offer to supply you with a copy of productivity rates is very generous, but you should be aware of the following:
Productivity rates are very dependent on the actual cleaning tasks that need to be carried out, nearly all of the complaints recieved by cleaning companies relate to work not being carried out. ie. things not been cleaned! It is therefore vital to understand which tasks have been included to make up these production rates.
Productivity will also be aided or hampered by the following:
Type of building being cleaned - A school, Hospital, Office (type), Factory (type) etc, will all have differing production rates.
Density of the area's to be cleaned.
Layout of differing area's.
Client expectations.
Budget.
Equipment & Training.
The above are just a few things that will effect the productivity rates that you may recieve from Nick. Please do not follow the rates blindly!
The answer is of course to ensure that you obtain all of the required information during your survey of any property that you are going to submit a quote for.
By taking detailed measurements, asking lots of questions, by accurate unit counts, you can then arrive at an customised productivity rating for each building that you survey.
Nick's, figures, I am sure will give you a reasonable place to start.

Rob
