company names
« on: January 03, 2010, 03:57:59 pm »
I wonder if anyone can help with regard to company names.  I have been window cleaning for approx 5 years and would like to have a company name so that I can get my van sign written.  However, every time I come up with a name, a google search seems to show this as already being in use.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this.  Does it matter (legally or otherwise) if a name is already in use, should a name be registered in any way???  Any help/views would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Steve.

if a name is registered as a ltd company then u can not use it un less it is your name  ie   joe blogss wc,  u can call your self anything you want but if the name is registered then they can make you change your name and try and sue you, for ruinning there name if you do a bad job,  ie if you call your self blue monkey,  smash a load of windows, etc, i get a load of hassel for it then i can sue you,  if you understand what i am meaning

just call your self simba window cleaning,  and stick a pic of simba on ur van

Why don't you just have your name and Window Cleaning after it,at least it's unique,I have...........

                              My Name
                        Window Cleaning
                    Commercial & Residential
                          Phone Number

I see alot of vans of Window Cleaners on the road and in my opinion are overdone, they have so much print on them it's hard to know what they actually do,keep it plain and simple with your own name :D
