took the year on as 'lets get through the credit crunch, and go from there', but no credit crunch for me, just clients mention it when they want a cheap quote, and before you know its the end of year. Got a lot of tools I have wanted, but still not got around to getting my web site sorted, so that the main plan for the start of next year.
2009 not a bad year.

Well I do hope 2010 will be a good year for us all.
I am having my Hydramaster Titan fitted in January . This will hopefully be a good stable mate for the Maxx470's I have.
Regards

This has been a massive year of change and investment for us:

Jan - started renting a 800sqft commercial unit and took on a big weekly contract with a caravan site
Feb - Took on the FC leather Franchaise
Mar - Sacked two window cleaners for fiddling!
June - Bought a 3m Spray Booth and a Renault Master Luton van for the leather work, also bought a new 400psi porty and drimaster tool as a back up to the Prowler

Generally, the FC leather business now has one full time and one part time person working on it, we've done a lot more flood work this year than in the past, carpets and windows has been pretty steady throughout the year and we've recently started doing kitchen ventilation cleaning, which is a messy job but with a very good profit margin.

Staffing has increased from 11 to 16.

This coming year is hopefully going to be a time to consolodate and look at the commercial and insurance side for growth rather than domestic

Actually, on this date last year.... Me, my wife and 3 kids were temporarily homeless... :(

All our belongings were in a removal lorry and we were awaiting confirmation that contracts were exchanged when the buyer for our house had paid his solicitor via the slower methods of internet banking ::) Their solicitor was not prepared to take the risk and sign the contracts over (Understandably!) until the money was safely in his account....

We stayed in the "Premier Inn" and contracts were exchanged on 23rd Dec 2008... We were still finding boxes with the kids presents in them a week later....

In the end, the new owner of our old house did say sorry....The worst and most stressful Christmas of my life...

Blimy Colin, that would be a mess at any time of the year, but infinatly worse at a holiday period.

My step sister is in the same position now,put their house on the market, not expecting it to sell for a while, turns out they sold it within 2 weeks, and people who bought it want to be in before yule !
So it`s all up in the air for them
What goes around comes around

It's really encouraging to read so many positive comments on a Monday morning. Thank you all for sharing.

It reminds me of the very first time I went to London as a young kid. I was standing at the top of a Tube station trying to make sense of the underground map while mega amounts of people were pushing by. This great big tall scary negro bloke stopped, realised he was dealing with someone from the sticks and took a few minutes to point me in the right direction. When I thanked him he just rrrr rumbled "pass it on" in a deep Barry White type voice. More than 30 years ago and I have never forgotten that and I've tried to do the same thing a thousand times since.
