DI VESSEL UPGRADE
« on: December 05, 2009, 02:02:51 pm »
just fitted twin ro units to new tank set up and been told to put both through di vessel using y piece hoselock connecters and the water is leaking badly from the in and out hoselocks on the di vessel, this by the way is the 18 x 8 11litre size, do you think the di is man enough?

have you undone the connections on the di lid by any chance or have you checked they are done up tight  ?

Hozelock fittings are c**p.  If you disturb them the rubber wears, the plastic wears and they leak

They were never intended for anything other than domestic hoses for garden watering etc, where slight leaks are no problem.

Unscrew the fittings and replace with John Guest type, might mean a bit of juggling but worth it in the long run.

Your DI's & hozelok fitting are well up to the job. Check the rubber O rings are in the vesswel head sockets & wrap generous amounts of PTFE tape around the male thread connector. ;)

If the male connectors are not brand new either get new ones or replace the rubber O ring on each. ;)

Pretty much what I was going to suggest.  The JG ones are much better IMO.
