For my brand new Peugeot van I pay £35 a week. You can lease the same from varitech with WFP setup already installed for not much more.

Why mess about trying to put a tank in an estate car?

much depends on how long you have been in the biz .

if you are in the first 2 years you really need an estate car,as this will draw in far more folk on the street to you  , FAR MORE .  (dont buy a snazzy looking van too early is my tip )

and me, it amazes me the amount of people who think you really need a van and ionics top end system to succeed in this biz, it traditionally a working mans game ( even worse to be honest, most see it as a top-up-your-dole type of job, sorry folks, but thats the public perception  ) the customer wants clean windows, thats it

we used to have the same arguement with the DIY WFP system V's the pro installed system, the customer would think you were a cowboy if they saw in the back of your van you had a tank fitted by yourself, no really we did, it was very common for people to spout that rubbish, they truely believed that a customer would come and ask to see inside your van then note the tank wasnt secured in a "crashed tested manor " , it seems even funnier now

WE as legitimate businesses can work to change the publics perception of window cleaners.
I have lots of recommondations from customers who state, that I look and act very professional.

How do you come to that conclusion?

if you seek ONLY  the hi-brow upper crust customers, maybe a snazzy van may impress them . but for the everyday semi ,the rank n file folk,  the impression of an oldish car /van is what they REALLY  want you to be in .

your van MB  is allrite as its ageing (no offence)  and as your building up ,id stick with it , once rounds is full you can treat yourself to a new one .just my opinion

sounds ok....how much deposit did you pay and how long is the rental?...do you get to own the van/equipment at the end of the term?

I have a full round up in Leicester cornelius, I have moved down to Essex and building a round down here.
The main thing I would say is a van can fit so much more kit in than ANY estate car, the last thing you want is to look clumsy at the customers house. If you invest in a WFP system, you can afford a van. you can pick up a reasonably decent van for less than £1K

I see the van as a tool, as I have quite a bit of kit, for which the escort van is not large enough.

Matt

so a guy pulls up with a estate car and pulls out his hose ( or his cart ) and his pole and away he goes

hardly clumsy is it ? ? ?

we could say that a van of 1 K will look older and you will look like a scruff in a tatty old van, its easy to find fault with everything if you look hard enough
