Leaflet drops
« on: October 20, 2009, 10:52:24 pm »
I know this subject was covered not so long ago, regarding the best times to deliver leaflets.
I used to deliver 200 leaflets per day 8am-10am and i used to get about 4 calls per 1000 delivered.
I changed a few months since to delivering 200 per day between 6pm-8pm and have had a far better response, about 6 per 1000 delivered. It shows how many were binned when people came home from work at 5pm and binned them thinking they were junk mail.

It's always a good idea to carry your diary when delivering leaflets I find!

Need to ensure that ur leaflet drops "solo" on the door mat. Evenings is best. Avoid the days when free papers are delivered.

Last time i went out evenings the bloody free paper delivery girl followed me around but i do get a good return on them about 6 per 1000  last time, definately better on postcard size and thick card although expensive £300 per 20000 customers keep them pin them to wall

Hi Jim
I would have asked her what streets she was working and gone elsewhere.  As Roger says, you got to be solo to get best results so keep away from free newspaper day/night.

The thing with leaflets is you have to just keep on delivering them and it will all come right in the end. I'm still getting calls despite having not delivered a leaflet in the past two years.

I think thats the key Vince.  Not many people, myself included, have the patience / motivation / energy to deliver day in  day out for a long period of time.

Your time and money would be better spent if you obtained a mailing list from a reputable company that carries out Mortascreen/MPS checks and aim at specific postcoded areas which contained details of the target market you are aiming at such ABC 's over 30 for example.

Then have post cards produced and mail them out, initially its dearer but the results are better and who wants to walk round estates dropping leaflets   ???
