These tank lids are useless.
« on: September 18, 2009, 08:53:22 am »

Anyone else finds that these leak like crazy? It doesn't come from the vent (put a cap on there with a tiny hole)

The water comes from underneath. I've tightened it to an inch of it's life, and it still leaks. To make matters worse the whole rubber ring fell out, in my tank. Had to get some fishing line with hook to get it out! Glued it in place.

I get the feeling the rubber ring barely works.

Any ideas? It's the tank with the vented mushroom on top.

I think every window cleaner having this problem with wydale tanks should contact them or maybe petition them, all of my tanks do this and it is highly annoying.
I could cut in filling holes that don't leak, but I should really not have to. IMO the Tank lids at present are unfit for job as ill fitting. there seem to be a lucky few that dont have this problem.

I'm interested to sell poll result of this so will start a poll.

ive done what jarvy suggested, putting a bead of silicone under the rubber o ring, to raise it slightly and to seal the gaps around it. havent tried it out yet as the tank isnt full, but will let you know if it works.

If you contact Wyvale and say there bolted in the back of your van and leaking they`ll probobly say what do you expect, there designed to be in a building holding liquids for the food industry or similar.
