Haha, this thread is making me laugh.

I remember that post. For some housing association or something. But i saw it as promoting achievable prices. Which were much higher than mentioned.

I consider glyn premier league from a business perspective. I also think you are doing well ronnie.
But i'm a cautious type nowadays and expanding at rates you mentioned, would concern me very much unless it was residential work.
But i think you have your head screwed on and could achieve what you want out of something, that i would nowadays shy away from.

Glyn is blunt and refuses to justify his remarks, but now ionics have stopped posting on here, omnople is the new target. I'm glad he is thick skinned enough to stay around and say his piece. Cos when i'm not laughing at hiss posts, there are plenty of nuggets to be had for anyone wanting to improve their profitability.

Now in general you wont know any one elses quote so you have to be competitive andthat is what i am without being cheap.

And if you want to come on here telling people they cant run a business because there cheaper than others more fool you!!!!! price fixing is illegal  ;D

Its fairly simple if you leave out the personalities, if the name gutter vac is trade marked then it would be wrong to use it, if it is not protected then off you go.

The total lack of ignorance regarding Company registration,Company names, Company law, Intelectual property, trade marks, patents of this site is astounding.

A total LACK of ignorance? Doesn't that mean you think that people here know what they're on about?
 ;D   ;D   ;D   ;D

(change it quick, you don't want people to think you're stupid when you're on your high horse do you!!!)

I too have done a search for the text "guttervac" and "gutter vac" etc at the www.ipo.gov.uk and nothing comes up.

I don't think you have this registered as a trademark at all.
Why don't you prove us all wrong and tell us what the trademark number is eh?

Sorry guys,.. this thread was never meant to end up this way. I personally didn't mean it to turn an attack on Glyn or Omnipole, and in my official position as a member of the Guild admin team I'd like to ask our members to please refrain from further contributing to the issue.

On Glyn's comment of "Trading Off",.. the Guild is a non-profit organisation,.. the logo/branding proposed would not bring us any financial benefit, so I'm doubtful that any of the penalties you threaten would be enforced past an absolute minimum level should the issue have continued to the point of court action.

My aim in this whole venture was to create a brand for the service, not a particular machine or manufacturer,... but I'm convinced that this brand would have indirectly benefited all suppliers of this equipment as its profile was raised. I will think on how this project can continue perhaps with slightly different wording that won't upset anyone.

My final comment before I lock this thread is that I did e-mail Glyn early in this discussion (using the e-mail in his profile) and very politely asked could we discuss this off forum,.. I even gave my mobile number. I've yet to receive the courtesy of a reply.
