Hi I am just in the process of setting up a round ...canvassing canvassing canvassing .I have bought most of the gear.but.....can someone please enlighten me why use expensive Scrim or Microfibre  why not use an old t-shirt etc etc
sorry if it seems basic question but would appreciate advice from experience

It's the absorbency.  A microfibre will take up much more water that a piece of t-shirt, so reducing water marks.   Also, never add softener if you put a microfibre in the washing machine, it ruins the absorbency completely.

Don't bother with scrim just buy a few unger microfibre

scrim is worth  100 t shirts  ,     one will last you  til lunchtime if not longer /and they look cool ,if you hook em on your belt

Scrim and Microfibre is great for polishing glass.

A proper scrim used properly will out perform microfibre any day ive tried both but end up going back to the scrim.


Best thing to do is buy some of both and have ago

Same here, back to unger pre washed scrim every time.
