How to clean chalky upvc frames?
« on: September 07, 2009, 11:15:21 am »
Got a job this week that will take a few days, I want to make it go as fast as possible. The frames are White upvc but really chalky failing the wet finger test. They also haven't been cleaned for 8 years last time trad. What's the fastest way to get a good clean?

I'm thinking of spraying the frames up with tfr first and then doing a frame clean on a bank of windows and then when that's dried doing the glass, or do you think the tfr is a waste of time and would just add a lot of tine to the job?

In the past I have found that if you clean the frame, wash the window, and then rinse the edge of the frame without the brush touching the frame it comes up alright. Might be worth then leaving a mo and checking if it's bled chalk again.

But it seems to be the brush that drags the chalk off...
