Just carry on knocking, Ive found the best time to knock evenings as you catch people in who are out during the day working and some don't have window cleaners. But just keep knocking eventually you will build up your round. Mind Ive been going 18 months now and although have some together most are scattered, I believe it takes years to build a compact round. Good luck!

All you need is 1 customer...then another...then another....just repeat ....It will come to a point here you think what the ^£^&...but just keep plugging away and you'll get to where you want to be...

Chin up...

I think most might say to that, yeah I always do the sills and frames, but most of them will be WFP. I don't know any trad cleaners in my town the cleans the frames, and to be honest I don't do it. I can make more money on glass cleaning than frame cleaning, as most customers see it as an extra, but in truth the PVC can take longer the the glass, and they wont want to pay more than double the price to add it in, so I don't do it.

I would also say be carefull with people, you are out do make money, so dont do things for the sake of it. People will take advantage of you if you do that. I have plenty of people try it on.

I had one customer who I went to and gave her a qoute for the windows and she said could you give the close windows a quick rub over. When I had a look at the floor to ceiling walls of glass right round the corner I told her they would cost more than double what I qouted her for her flat, ohh the last guy just did them, it will only take you two minutes, yeah right pull the other one missus.

Jees I have never really been trad working for myself (did about 6 weeks when I was 20ish).I think one of the other members will be in a better position to answer that one...

Should you go wfp...do glass/frames/sills for the price quoted.

Cheers Dave..

Good luck.

I've done a bit of canvassing today as I've just started too.  I've had great results from shops today, have you approached shops yet ?
Seems 1 out of every 2 or 3 that I ask need someone.

If I was water fed pole I would be the same, but I talking about cleaning them trad. With WFP you need to clean the frames to prevent dirty runs, so its not that you do it out of the goodness of your heart, but with trad you dont have to.
