I should bottle this stuff and make a killing, What is it? An absolutly brilliant window cleaning agent. Just try this once and you'll be hooked.
put half your usual amount of washing up liquid in your bucket and a couple of squirts of dishwaser rinse aid. I buy litre bottles from Aldi's. It kills all suds and seems to put the water on thinner. I don't know how this works but I only end up with half the water on the sills. Your blade glides across like an eel on ice. I only tried it this past week and still have not worked out the perfect ratio of detergent to rinse aid. I'v been using approx 1 part detergent to 3 parts rinse aid but you may well get away with using less of the rinse aid.
One thing I did notice was when I used morning fresh the water was as clear as gin but when I used Fairy the water went cloudy. Maybe more lanolin in it, Both do the job though, totally suds free. ps Thanks for the tip on dog eared channels. Dave

Sounds interesting.  There's an Aldis near me.  What is the exact brand of dishwasher rinse you use?

We did use Ettore cleaning stuff but it ended up costing a bomb so we went back to good old fairy which I hate.

I've added this later:- The Ettore stuff is really really good. Excellant but we just used so much of it and at £25 for 5 ltr's and nearly all gone in a week or so compared to bulk buying Fairy at £3.20 for 5 ltr's .......or if we buy the cheap stuff £1.60 for 5 ltr's!

I think it could be the same one that i have which is Magnum rinse aid  1 ltr  bottle  69p i think it cost bought  it to experament my self but not got round to it yet,

Yes it's called magnum or Alio, They are the same, exept magnum has perfume in it. Dave

Forgot to mention it I use a backflip in the all in one position.
and it is brilliant with this solution. I know it takes a bit of time getting the technique right using a backflip this way but it,s well worth the effort. The secret is getting enough water to the top of the pane before you start profiling, the water goes on ,the blade takes it off all in one go. I only turn the sqeegee over if I'm using the pole, Dave

I don`t live near any Aldi`s,but can you do this and see what improvement if any that there is.
Use pure water instead of ordinary tap water.When you do a reading it should just send your
T.D.S. meter all `haywire`,but won`t show an impure reading which you think it would or might.
I`m up for anything that gives good rubber `glide` and `slip`.

When you use"fairy", why is it that the water would cloud up?

There are hundreds of different types of dishwashing detergent; many that are a gel form or totally clear, as "Joy".

I would never use a lanolin based/creamy based detergent.

Use the clear formulas. Even on window cleaning sites that sell products Joy is listed.

Interesting, huh? Joy and Fairy.

I`ve never seen a clear dish washing detergent or heard of Joy. I`d be interested in giving one a go though.

Debbie may come in on this later I think fairy and Joy are the same, both made by proctor and gamble.
Another additive softner is Calgon rinse aid powder/tabs  or sainsburys similar water softner. £1.80
