Yes mate, keep going, it's what makes the difference between your biz growing or  dieing. Takes bottle to knock doors.

People hate rejection so it stops some people doing door knocking.

knocking on doors does not really bother me its saying the right things if i get turned down at the first door is at worth asking if the whole street has a wc or carry on knocking or move on some where else

It used to bother me though! I just keep going even if they have a WC in the street or not (I don't undercut ) But I told myself "Each no is 1 closer to a yes" or something like that. I look at the percentage I get and this makes me go out again.

Good luck anyway, keep us posted :)

"Hi there, my names Bob"(or whatever, then give them a card. place it in their hand and step back)
"Would you be interested in a quote for having your windows/gutters professionally cleaned?"

Then wait for them to answer. Don't feel you need to fill the gap with words.

If they say "Yes" walk round the house and give them a quote.
If they say "No" Thank them for their time, and say "If you do need a quote feel free to call me"
If they say "We have a window cleaner" Say "No problem, maybe you could give my card to one of your friends or family who need a window cleaner"

If they say "We have one but he's rubbish" Offer to quote but make it a high quote so that you have no danger of under cutting. If they are that bad they will pay the difference.

When you give them a price, dont drop your price if they try to barter. If you have to, offer them an additional service like inside cleans for 1.5x the outside and tell them it's usually 2x so they feel they are getting a discount for additional services.

Hope this helps,

Stuart

I know its late but this works for me.....

Me and my lovely wife went out today. We did about 2hrs knocking from 2 - 4pm and dropped leaflets to those not in.

She got me 6 customers and did another 8 quotes. At one point i had 3 txts with addresses to go quote. Tip is stick in the same street and say its a family business. People like the fact your not a big money grabbing company, but a small family run firm. Or thats the impression i get round here.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

lets make sense of this... lets say 200 houses... knock on these between 9-5... you may only get 40 in and 3 yes's...and youv wasted a lot of energy and your feeling negative and deflated.. ::)

ok. go and do just 50 houses after 6pm same st... 40 in 20 yes's ... lol, its not rocket science.... :o u have to call when people are in ;D
