we use double 3.5mtrs alloy points from the window cleaning centre - £ 255 .
Safer than normal ladders, you can put a point up in more places, ie on the frames/side of brickwork uneven ground etc. plus you will look more like a pro window cleaner .
I find these are a good size for most things, any smaller and you will find you can’t reach dormers, velux etc.
A good 5-6 foot single point will be your bread and butter ladder.
you can always get a alloy pole to put your applicator and squeegee on to do shops if you cant reach - sudd the window up and then blade it off using the pole. Then as you come down to head high do the rest as you would do as normal.
Not a fan of wooden points - to heavy, the ones I had many years ago only lasted a few years, 8 years so far on the alloy - it’s used in anger 5 days a week.
I've replaced rubber feet a few times, just swoped them from the top first section, and one new rubber top block.
In my youth I worked for a guy that had a double 18 rung wooden point - I think it weighed as much as me
took 2 of us to carry the bloody thing to jobs !!
