Hi all  

I have been thinking about getting myself a window cleaning round in my area for some while now.

Allthough i have no previous expereince i am hardworking and a very quick learner so i am hopeing that will do for now and i will pick up the skills i need as i go on.

I am planning on getting 1000 leaflets printed out next week and posting them through all the doors round here.

Just wondering if any 1 has any tips or adivce on techniques products etc it will only be residential houses i will be doing,  and probs no higher than 2 up windows. 

I was thinking i will probably offer gutter cleaning aswell.

I am really just looking to find out what the best equipment and stuff is and what about weather conditions do people work in the rain.  As i have heard ppl saying they dont work in the rain is this true?

Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated as i want evrything to go as smoothly as possible for me so anything no matter how big or small is great.

i dont work in the rain,but some do,get titan ladders and unger washer/applicator and fairy liquid

Hi i started a couple of months ago but had some w/c experience years ago when i left school 1987
im only making it pay as ive got a part time job in the evening ,keeping that till ive built a round.
You dont need the best tools mine are off ebay but you need a decent squeegee rubber ,you will have to try hard and soft rubber to see which you prefer.Iwould go with bucket on the belt saves carrying your tools up your ladder and then theres the choice of scrim or micro cloths i have both but tend to use the micro cloths.Iwould get 10000 lealets printed as you only get about 1/2 % of customers per 1000 leaflets and be prepared for no responce at all ,i posted an whole village only got 1 customer,but dont go out and under cut and be prepared for odd conflict with other w/cs but dont let them put you off but be prepared for the hard work  and i mean hard work not as easy as people think , posting leaflets for hour on end and no responce . You will be slow starting out and will prob earn less than minimum wage  and if your not prepared for that get a proper job,but if you are stick at it ive built from scratch got around 20 + customers  + 12 new first cleans next week just from word of mouth.
