Hi,
am thinking of purchasing a prochem galaxy, any views on this or do you think i should invest a little more and go for one in the steempro range. Just starting out and very much enjoyed the prochem c/c course at chessington.
Look forward to your comments.
Ben.

If you have set your mind on a Prochem machine i would go for a Powermax or Powerplus with twin vacs, you then have the option of running two sets of hoses. You also get a larger solution capacity than the Galaxy nearlly double, a must on the bigger jobs. Also you will get the twin jet wand.

In my opinion the Galaxy is not enough for a professional carpet cleaner that will use the machine as his/her main unit.  If i were you id go for the Steempro Powerplus 500.  Adjustable water pressure upto 500psi + it has dual 3 stage vac motors with a sated 240cfm and "clip-on" in-line 2.8kw heat exchanger which produces virtually instant hot cleaning solution.

Personally I'm looking at the Powerflight Perfect Heat PFX 1350.
Virtually same price as the Powerplus 500 by the time you've bought the inline heater.

Ive got the Prochem 500 with inline heater and i have no complaints so far, i upgraded from Powermax which i still have as back up, to be honest you never really use more than 200psi even on the worst jobs.

I am finding since upgrading from a 70 psi pump to a 120 psi pump in my machine i use much more fluid, dread to think how much you would get through with upto 500 on hand

Joe

Doesnt the scorpion have a 500 psi pump ???

Mark

Think your 135 psi will be enough for most jobs and the biggger pumps are for tile and hard floors.

Joe,

No fuss,  Ben was asking about the Prochem Galaxy & some of us have given him our opinions & informed him that he would be better off going for the Prochem Powerplus 500.  Yes you have the option of having it with or without the heater.  Obviously Ben would be better off having the heater option as it makes cleaning so much easier & quicker.

The scorpion is a good machine which i have stated before just simply always said that i would rather have a porty with a heater.  In-line heaters can be a pain in the ar*e as they can get in the way but the one that would go with the Powerplus 500 is a clip on that is neatly set on the rear of the machine.  I spoke to a carpet cleaner the other week that has one & he informed me that its a great machine & the heated water from the "Heat n Run" is VERY good,  much better than he has had in the past.  A friend of mine purchased a Eclipse portable & a inline heater from Solution a few years ago.  The portable was a good machine but the heater was sh*te.

Clinton ,
Yes i did buy it new,and yes it does have the built in steamate . Very happy with it.Did a school job with it yesterday and it made my life so much easier. However,,i will have to get a new upholstery tool and maybe even a new wand as it is much more powerful than my old steampro2000.
