i can't say i've had this happen to me, perhaps your bucket has a sharp edge?

have had my bucket on a belt for some time now only probs ive had is through crouching and bucket tipping over me, only happened once wont be happening again... never had no blades splitting you want to take a close look at your bucket see whats causing the prob, maybe time to get a new 1

I have the Unger BOAB and never had a problem with nicks in the rubber

Ive had this before, through wear and tear the BOAB develops slightly rough edges, which the rubber can catch on. You could replace your bucket, but youll probably get the same problem after a while.

The easiest solution that I have found is to identify where on the bucket the rubber is catching, and then superglueing a small piece of old rubber that the rubber in your channel can rest against.

Make sure both your bucket and the piece of rubber are dry before glueing, and use a waterproof glue, otherwise it will fall off in a week.

I used to use a holster it was the ettore held two squeeges only.went over to a boab,. ettotre sidekick and should have got this first  it is safer climbing ladders not having to hold the applicator in one hand.The boab holds both squeege and aplicator and the ettore is not as large as some of the others.

I've not had this happen to me but I know someone who *did* complain about it.  He got around it by getting some spare grips that fit on the squeegee handles.  Instead of using them for squeegee handles, he inserted one into the B O A B where his squeegee was kept.  Problem solved.
