I did go out this morning, but there's snow where i was working. Have about an hour of ground level to do later, so going to see what it's like this afternoon.
Where am I knocking today?

I can't get my van out my road as its too icy but i got my daughters little 106 out no problem, So the wife made me take her shopping in that.

The weather forcast is not good for the next two day so i have a feeling i won't be working at all this week.  :(

Did a full day 7.30 - 3 and picked up another small commercial job. Most road are completely clear but some side toads are like an ice rink.

No work Monday or Tuesday.

10 'til 3 for me today - bit icy in the shade so a bit slower than normal - wfp as usual except tradding doors and some bottom windows.

Bristol is forecast to cop it again tonight.

Monday evening we went up the local golf course and did some sledging on the slopes with the family and friends. First time my youngest (10) had been on a sledge locally - I dragged her along the pavement on it as it was thick enough and then whizzed down the slopes.

All great for about two hours and then my middle daughter and her friend went down this steep slope and whacked their backs on a hidden path part way down. My daughter a bit bruised but her friend was winded and badly jarred her spine, had a 999 call, we carry her on a stretcher 600m to the ambulance and she's checked out in hospital overnight! Off college but "only" bruising to the spine thankfully!

We'll still go back if we get some more decent snow!
It's a game of three halves!

4th day of and strating to think now if its worth bothering with any more i feel like selling up and doing something else' ive done this for 11 years now and when you weigh things up.
Yes there arent many jobs that you can earn £20 + an hour, just sit back and think about all the time you lose due to the weather, you dont get paid at xmas, you dont get paid when your on holiday i reckon you would be as well off working regulary for someone else at a lot less of an hourly rate to.
Seriously looking at selling my round and going to work bk with my bro and get paid when i,m weathered of and on holiday.
A bad days fishing is better than a good days work !

Seriously though, the hourly rate means nothing. It's the figures you put on your tax return that tell the real story. My last year although not brilliant by any means still beats any job out there that i could do with my qualifications and age. Particularly when in a whole year i have never worked a full week (35 hours and above).
The problem with this job and many others - it's a cashflow thing, you can't rely on your money being regular like you do when employed there's no real pay day.

I trudged past a signwritten van offering gardening services this morning - i wonder how he's coping.  :-\
