HI YOU GUYS AND GIRLS..
« on: January 08, 2009, 07:55:44 pm »
HI EVERYONE, THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ON HERE. MY NAMES SHAUN AND  I LIVE IN THE SOUTH YORKSHIRE AREA... I'M LOOKING TO START UP  A DRIVEWAY WASHING SERVICE, AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME WITH SOME QUESTIONS I WANT TO ASK ABOUT SETTING UP THIS  KIND OF BUSSINESS... LIKE WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF WASHER AND FSC  TO USE... CAN YOU USE THE CUSTOMERS WATER STRAIGHT FROM AN OUTSIDE TAP ( I'VE SEEN PROM VIDEOS OF HOW THESE FSC WORK , AND THE GUYS ALWAYS SEEM TO BE CONNECTING TO AN OUTSIDE TAP, BUT YET I'VE READ THAT YOU NEED A WATER TANK OF SOME SORT )... I'M LOOKING TO DO THIS AS A PART TIME BUSSINESS FOR A FEW YEARS  UNTIL I GET MORE EXPERIANCE AND THEN HOPE TO GO INTO THE COMMERCIAL SIDE OF IT...I'M NOT LOOKING INTO MAKING TONS OF CASH ,  JUST ENOUGH TO GET BY, I'D BE MORE  INTRESTED IN BUILDING UP A GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GETTING  A QUALITY FINISH..FROM EXPERIANCE I KNOW THAT THIS IS THE BEST ADVERTISNG YOU CAN DO.... KIND REGARDS SHAUN...........

Shaun

We use 2 honda 3000psi producing 15litres pm, which we find covers all our needs both domestic and commercial, we also have a lombardini diesel which is mounted onto a 1000L bowser. If you'r looking to do this professionally imo you can't go wrong with genuine honda (if anything goes wrong you can get them fixed), the important bit is the max psi and flow rate. If you go for a 3000psi you will need to use a tank, a wheelie bin makes an ideal tank. As for FSC we use both whirlaway and mosmatic (there are also other manufacturers but we have not tried them so can't comment) and really there is nothing to choose between them, I personally prefer the whirlaway 20" (I think 20") with wheels, it's ideal for most domestic jobs. Other bit of kit is an adjustable twin lance for edges and rinsing, and a snow shovel for collecting the debris you wash out (don't wash it down the drains).
We started by cleaning friends and family drives and patios to learn what and how, it's not rocket science but like everything it requires thought and practise.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Neil

Hi neil, thanks for your reply...i was looking at the kiam km 3200p petrol washer from equip 2 clean.. it has a max press of 3600psi/240 bar and rated press of 3200psi/220 bar.... Looking at other posted chat on here , the honda seems to get mentioned a lot... Would you or anybody else reading this be able to tell me where would be the best place to look ....kind regards , shaun.......... ;D
