life of a pole
« on: November 08, 2008, 05:50:36 pm »
i put this topic on here a few weeks back and was recommended to spray the pole with engine laquer, it just about worked for my pole as it was so badly worn wish i had of done it sooner anyway il know in future .
I then took the bolt out of the clamp and removed the lever and then grinded the slot that tightens to the pole ,put it all back together and i have more ajustment than what i need this should keep it going a lot longer

I need to do something with my extel... all three sections are spinning , and sliding down now... i tighten them and they last a couple of jobs , and off they slide again..

someone posted a reply about using a bit of plastic ... say, from a coke bottle and popping it under the pole grip... but i cant find it .... and it may have even been for the harris poles.

That was me, and it was for the Harris. If the clamps have claws you just cut a strip off a pop bottle and wrap it round the claws once, tuck on end of the plastic under a claw and tighten up the clamp.
