Trad window cleaners vehicles

Not wanting to bum out the WFP polers but you guys will mostly all use van, as has different needs for a vehicle than a trad window cleaner.

But what do all drive. At the moment I am using a saloon as have not been W/Cing for long, and it was really what I had as supposed to choice but would probablly buy a kangol, for my next car.

I guess the reason I ask, is I want to use a car thats economical, proffessional looking and does the job, reliable etc.

So what do you guys use, how much does it cost you per mile to run it, and have you had any problems with it. I think that this info could be quite useful for other W/C looking to buy a new vehicle.

My saloon runs a 25p per mile. Its a 1.6 liter engine.

Absolutly fine for W/C but I have bashed the boot lit of the ladders while racked a couple of times, as the release is in the cab and the wind caught it. Not an expenses car or anything, Just a rough and rugged to get about town in, but a great wee car, thats held up great up to now.

I don`t think it matter that much what vehicle you use, carrying a ladder and bucket you could do that with most vehicles,i suppose if you are more concerned about economy then a vehicle with a good mpg is what you should be looking for  ;)
ps a "kangol" is clothing isn`t it ?  ;D

i used to have a seat ibiza and then had a VW vento (a golf wth a boot)

i didnt mind about the ibiza but it did get bashed about, i started using the vento and that car was a mint car, i was gutted when i scratched it a few times, that was when i got the pug partner

hatchbacks are a pain to get in the back with the ladders on. eaasy to move around

saloons are good and with mine i could open the boot without it fouling on the ladders

estates are really good for space but again can sometimes be a problem with opening the boot

I have a hatchback, looking to get a van ( berlingo size) in near future as have expanded my services in other areas of cleaning  and not enough room for all the kit I carrie, then it has to be used as family transport and drives me mad having to keep unloading to get seats back up.
