How long??
« on: August 26, 2005, 11:30:42 pm »
Just got my RO system running today.
I've had it on since lunchtime and going to leave it running overnight.
It's only a 50gpd but what i wanted to know is if i can leave it on for two or three days or will it damage it???
Hopefully i will have enough water to start practicing tomorrow as this is my first time with wfp. :-\

HI Craig

You should be able to leave it on 24-7, but you must remember to flush the membrane every couple of days.

at 50gpd, you are looking at around about 10 days to fill a 1000lt tank.

Hope this helps

Andrew

dont see why you can not leave it runing for as long as u want should not damage it. i have got a 200 and it takes about 1 hour to make 25 lts at 60psi water presure . i think it will take your 50 about 4 hours to get 25lts so you will have to leave it runing for quite a few hours

Cheers for that Guys.
I new i should have gone for a bigger one but as i am just starting out and didn't have much work thats why i got it.
I've been door knocking over this last week and managed to get up just over £200 of work to add to what i already have. Some i need the pole for some i don't.
I'm off to the inland revenue next week to find out if i can afford to hand my notice in at my part time job as i get the tax credits since i'm a single parent.
Cheers again

Craig,

I remember reading about someone who claimed some type of benefit that paid him some sort of benefit during his first year of business.

Why not give your local citizens advice a visit.

Craig go to your local business link/chamber of commerce. There are all sorts of fundings available for new ventures.

Princes Trust if you are under 30

They will point you in the right direction

Thanks for that. I've been looking on the business link website but can't see any sort of grant i can go for.
I'll have to get in touch with them.

I tried the princes trust yesterday but was told i have to be unemployed for 12 weeks before they would consider my application for a grant. With not having enough work to give up my full time job ( I only wc in evenings and at weekends) I cant wait 12 weeks so will call citizens advice today and see what they think!!!
