Resin woes

Just bought some resin from gardiners refilled my cannister with brand new resin and and it doesnt bring the tds down to zero...how come.

Out of ro with pump its coming out at 002 after new resin 001  ???

Confused

Strange  ???

Have you tried using someone else's tds meter?  Was this reading taken straight away or after a couple of minutes of processing?

This may sound daft but have known it to happen. Have you connected the outlet and inlet correctly as this does have an effect.

No.  There's nothing wrong with the make of resin.  I'm wondering if you have a contaminated 5 litre batch.  Sending you a 1 litre batch will help you test if this is the case.  If there is no difference, it will help you eliminate the resin from your problem-shooting.

undo it and lube the o ring with a bit of silicone spray. sometimes the o ring can crimp up when its put in dry, this will allow the 002 water to mix with the 000 giving you a 001 reading.
Thats what I reckon has happened anyway.

I'm DI only using two in line vessels. My misses fills my empty containers for me. I went out this morning and the yard was flooded, she had let tap water run through both vessels all night, tap water is around 50 TDS, the stuff coming out of the DI this morning was 132.
Resin won't last long at that rate.

That's a good bit of advice. 

A couple of local window cleaners to me recently got an RO and the reading they were getting on the in-built TDS meter was 003 after DI; and this was after it'd been running for about 12 hours.

One of them came round to ask me for advice, so I checked their 'pure water' with my hand-held TDS meter and got a 000 TDS reading.

Now I know my water is fine, so I assume that it was the calibration of their TDS meter was out.
