a waterproof outside socket now 4 quid in lidl's by all accounts ( just seen it mentioned on another forum )

Just get a good extension cable with 16 amp fuses and ceeform (round push fit) connectors (splashproof) this will be more than adequate unless you want to submerge your cable.
